Movement

Our exploration will be creative, cooperative and specific to your somatic experience. The goal will be to empower you with tools that bring your unique movement into a more cohesive and healthy place.

We can address broader movement fluidity and efficiency, gait, posture, work-related concerns, strength, activity-specific strategies, exercise strategies, injury or surgery recovery, etc. We may employ strengthening, muscle activation, movement patterns, breath, even supplementation and nutrition. This work can be interwoven within a bodywork session or done separately.

Stephen has been very active all his life, growing up hiking and backpacking the mountains around Boulder, playing high school sports and performing in theater and beyond. He has been an avid skier (nearly all types), backpacker, swimmer, cyclist, runner, advanced yoga practitioner and dancer. He has climbed Fourteeners and skied glaciated peaks, done long backpacks, run major rivers, kayaked in the Puget Sound, run half marathons, and practiced yoga with some of the leading teachers in the world. He has studied many movement and body-centered practices, from bodywork to kinesiology to meditation and breathwork. Stephen has navigated his own injuries and physical challenges along the way, including hip dysplasia/arthritis that led to a hip resurfacing in 2018. He grounds his own relationship with his body and health in a belief that it is miraculous what our bodies allow us to do over the course of many years and many challenges, and that there is always more to learn and discover, always more we can do to grow our health.
